B-Mex specializes in providing practical access to computational models for Greenhouse Horticulture. Existing and new models are made available via the Internet in a modern, innovative way. Rapid developments in greenhouse farming have made horticulture more complicated. It is no longer just about good crop management; energy management, trading and marketing planning are also increasingly important.
Building computational models is a clever way to link scientific knowledge to actual data from companies. This creates a valuable tool that gives growers “on-the-job” insight into the state of the crop, expected harvest and climate and crop management options for the coming weeks.

Our team
Peter van Beveren
Peter van Beveren studied Agrotechnology (Biosystems Engineering) at Wageningen University. He received his doctorate from Wageningen University on the topic of energy management in greenhouse farming. During his doctoral research, he worked on modeling greenhouse climate and optimizing the use of different energy sources for heating and cooling greenhouses. Peter joined B-Mex in 2015 and has been co-owner since 2017. At B-Mex, Peter works to develop new applications and continuously improve existing systems.
Jeroen Boonekamp
Jeroen Boonekamp studied Plant Sciences at Wageningen University. In his studies, he specialized in modeling the effects of greenhouse climate on plant growth. After graduating in 2018, Jeroen started working as a practice researcher. He soon came to the conclusion that, in his opinion, too little is being done with models in cultivation. Since 2020, therefore, he has been working for B-Mex to implement crop models in daily crop management. In 2022, Jeroen became co-owner of B-Mex.
